Hoyts Barn
In Sanborn, New Hampshire, an extended family converts their 1878 timber barn into an arts workspace to save it from dereliction, solving clients' creative emergencies every week while their eighty-eight-year-old patriarch watches from the yard and refuses to come inside.
Across seven years of delay and conversion, the Hoyt family turns an old farm outbuilding into Cornstalk Studios—known between themselves only as the story barn—taking on any commercial or audio commission to cover the mortgage. As cousins, siblings, and an outside sound engineer navigate their own thwarted ambitions, their grandfather Alden observes the transformation of the building he lived alongside his entire life.

The cold open is March 2019, when nothing is decided; the season is 2026, when the barn takes any job that comes up the drive because the barn has a mortgage, and one of the Hoyts ends up in the wrong room every week doing a kind of work they have opinions about. Alden stands in the yard the whole time. The season ends when he goes in.
